In plain words: creating an account and unlocking full access means a little more information is now handled by trusted, established providers — never by us directly, and never sold or shared. Here's exactly what that looks like.
What we collect, and why
When you sign in, we receive your email address through Google (via Clerk, our authentication provider) so we can recognize your account and remember what you've unlocked. When you make a purchase, Stripe handles your payment details directly — we never see or store your card information ourselves. Your sex, weight, and food selections are used only to calculate your personalized nutrient targets.
Where your data actually lives
Your account and login information is stored by Clerk, a dedicated authentication provider — not on our own servers. Your payment information is handled entirely by Stripe, acting as the seller of record for your purchase — we never touch or store raw payment details. Your food selections, sex, and weight remain stored only in your own browser's local storage, exactly as before — they're never sent to Clerk, Stripe, or any server of ours. The only thing tied to your account is whether you've unlocked full access — nothing about your actual diet.
What this means in practice
Because your diet data lives only in your browser, it won't currently follow you if you sign in on a different device — your purchase and access will carry over, but you'll start with a blank slate for your food selections there. We may build proper cross-device syncing in the future; if we do, this page will be updated to reflect it before it happens.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with anyone beyond the providers required to run the service — Clerk for accounts, Stripe for payments — and we never use anything for advertising.
Your control over your data
You can request that your account be deleted at any time by contacting us — this removes your account and login data from Clerk. Payment records are retained by Stripe as required for legitimate business and legal purposes.
